Hair Bows

Here is Kaiya's creation.  These are hair bows made out of beer/soda cans.  They take a huge amount of time but I have to say the finished product is awesome.  That is why she is considered our abstract thinker.

It has been quite the process getting to this point in the block project.  I bought the blocks used so there has been a lot of time spent on cleaning and prepping.  Hopefully now that I know what I'm doing with software and other things, many more will be coming soon.  I couldn't have gotten this far without some help from my family.  To all of them, THANK YOU :)

Clocks

This has been by trial and error. Making the hole in this piece of tile has been a week ordeal. I've researched drilling ceramic tile. I've learned that you can't just use a normal drill bit. I've learned that most people would rather have a work bench, but isn't needed. I've learned that measuring is important. I've also learned that these are truly unique. NO ONE, makes them like me. I've gotten some equipment to make this happen easier. Like soft clamps (that's what I call them), a diamond drill bit (that wasn't cheap), modge podge, some yarn, some chalk (very helpful for measuring), and some patience :). I'm waiting for the clock guts to put in this. I'm excited to have this posted on Etsy. It will be a lot of fun to get some unique things sold.

THE FIRST CREATION

Here is the first creation. I've spent this evening tearing apart frames and getting them ready to vinyl. This is for the bathroom. I'm going to add some ribbon for the hanger and call it HAPPY :)

This is behind a darker wall....

THE BEGINNING

To start our journey, we have to start with supplies. Why spend hundreds of dollars when you don't have to? You can spend a fraction of the cost by using used things. Watch for thrift stores, and online used options like the local classified ads, and your online craigslist, and freecycle. Some of these are so fun to look at, but when you can bring them home and make something worthwhile out of them, makes it even better. This is our task and we WILL accomplish it.
